摘要：万福垴遗址是一处大型周代聚落遗址，遗存可分为三期，年代分别为西周晚期、春秋早期、春秋中期。遗址汇聚了鄂东乃至长江下游和峡江地区及长江上游的多种文化因素，同时与周文化保持了非常亲密的亲缘关系，呈现出多元文化因素融合的特征。但究其主要文化内涵仍属楚文化范畴，又出土有一批青铜重器，在鄂西地区较为少见，对研究楚文化的形成与发展具有重大意义。

Abstract: Wanfunao Site is located on a first level terrace in the left side of Yangtze River where now belongs to Baiyang Industrial Zone,Yichang City,HubeiProvince. After a careful investigation and exploration to the site in 2013, a thorough excavation was held from May to September in 2015 by Hubei Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and related partners. The excavation covers an area of 605 square meters; a number of ash-pits, ash-ditches and kiln relics have been discovered and cleaned up; a great deal of potteries and a small quantity of bronze and stone relics were unearthed; abundant of plant and soil samples have also been gathered. It is a large-scale settlement site of Zhou Dynasty, dated from late Western Zhou to middle Spring and Autumn Period, with an abundant cultural connotation that blended in many local cultural factors from Eastern Hubei to Upper and Lower reaches ofYangtze River. The main cultural connotation belongs to Chu Culture yet has close relationship with Zhou Culture. Meanwhile, a group of precious bronzes wares were also excavated from the site, rarely seen inWestern Hubei. Overall, this site is of great significance in tracing the route of Zhou Culture and the formation and evolution of Chu Culture.
